Bring Me the Horizon Stunned by Liam Gallagher’s Love for Their Wonderwall Cover

Bring Me the Horizon never saw it coming. The band’s bold cover of Oasis’ legendary hit Wonderwall got a surprising thumbs-up from none other than Liam Gallagher. Known for their heavy, genre-bending sound, the British rockers flipped the Britpop classic into a moody, atmospheric masterpiece for Spotify Singles earlier this year. They braced for a roasting from the outspoken Oasis frontman. Instead, they got praise that left them floored.

Frontman Oli Sykes spilled the details on the BRIT Awards 2025 red carpet while chatting with NME. “It’s a good song, honestly one of my favorites. Top five for sure,” he said about Wonderwall. “We usually cover obscure tracks no one knows. This time, we thought, let’s tackle something everyone recognizes. Make it a challenge to reimagine. It turned out decent, I think! The wild part? Liam didn’t trash it completely. That’s insane.”

Drummer Mat Nicholls chimed in, nodding to Oasis’ massive influence. “We grew up on their music, no question. For our age, Oasis is a British must. You can’t escape them. We figured Liam would tear us apart, but he actually said nice stuff. It’s awesome, and the cover landed as well as we hoped.”

Liam’s reaction was pure gold. On social media, he raved, “I f—ing LOVE it.” When a fan hinted his brother Noel might hate it, Liam fired back: “I don’t care. It’s absolutely incredible, made my day. I’m off to skateboard, forget y’all.” High praise from a rock icon known for brutal honesty.

The BRITs were another big moment for Bring Me the Horizon. They snagged Best Alternative/Rock Act in 2024 and were up for Group of the Year in 2025, though Ezra Collective took the win. Next up, the band headlines Reading & Leeds Festival 2025 alongside Travis Scott, Chappell Roan, and Hozier. It’s their second time topping the twin-site fest, following a 2022 co-headline with Arctic Monkeys. From covers to stages, they’re unstoppable!
