Early Life and Inspiration to Become an Idol
Takahashi Shoko came from a relatively wealthy family, but her life changed when her parents divorced during her first year of high school. The divorce, triggered by religious differences from her mother's side, forced Shoko to transfer to a full-time school and take part-time jobs. This hardship inspired her to pursue a career in entertainment.
Her aspiration to become an idol began after watching an SKE48 performance on the "24 Hour Television" show. Although she failed the second-generation audition for SKE48, she did not give up. In July 2012, she debuted as a member of the maid idol unit Moerister at the Moricoro Park Summer Festival. Shortly afterward, she joined the idol group CAMOUFLAGE as a guitarist in October 2012. While active in the Nagoya idol scene, Shoko also worked part-time at idol café A.icafe and maid café Moeri in Ōsu.
Career as a Gravure Idol
Shoko began her gravure career in June 2013, appearing in various national sports newspapers and magazines. Represented by Hotline Promotion, her popularity quickly rose. In 2013, she was awarded Best Newcomer at the Professional’s Choice Idol DVD Awards and Best New Talent at the Tokuma Shoten Asa Gei Secret Gravure Idol Awards. She continued to gain acclaim, winning MVP in 2014.
She was also highly ranked in gravure idol listings. In January 2014, Weekly Playboy ranked her as West Sekiwake, followed by East Ozeki in BX magazine in Spring 2014. Her pinnacle came in January 2015 when she was ranked West Yokozuna. That same year, she was selected as a member of Nichi-Teregenic 2015 but declined the offer. In 2015, she formed the all-female rock band HöLDERLINS with Kira☆Ann. Her gravure career ended in December 2015, marked by her final cover appearance on EX MAX! by Bunkasha.
Transition to the JAV Industry
In April 2016, Shoko made her comeback under the name Takahashi Shoko, appearing in the FRIDAY Dynamite magazine by Kodansha. She posed semi-nude for the first time in the Golden Week double issue of May 2016. Her JAV debut took place on May 1, 2016, through Gravure Four Heavenly Kings Takasho MUTEKI Debut Takahashi Shoko, produced by MUTEKI. With the backing of Top Pro and exclusive studio MOODYZ, her works were commercial hits.
In July 2016, she participated in AV OPEN 2016, winning seven awards, including the Grand Prix and Best Actress. In 2017, she won four awards at the DMM.R18 Adult Awards, including Best New Actress. She also served as I-BEAT Girl for AV OPEN from 2017 to 2020, alongside stars like Eimi Fukada and Tsumugi Akari.
In 2018, Shoko left HöLDERLINS to focus on her JAV career and won the Outstanding Actress Award at the DMM.R18 Adult Awards. She made her film debut with Kan-Yu in September 2018. Her popularity soared further, ranking first in Asahi Geino's 2021 Sexiest JAV Actress General Election and sixth in FANZA’s 2020 annual rankings.
Retirement from JAV
In April 2022, Shoko announced her retirement from the JAV industry after celebrating her fifth anniversary in the field. In an interview with NEWS Post Seven, she cited her desire to care for her body as the main reason. Her final work topped the FANZA order rankings for two consecutive weeks in April 2022. After retiring, she joined Lister Productions as a guitarist and model.
Personal Life
In her 2022 autobiography, Shoko revealed several personal details. She got the nickname “Takasho” from Yuuta Niizuma and listed soft tennis as her favorite sport. Shoko is also known for her unique fetish for Achilles tendons. She started masturbating at the age of 14 and had her first sexual experience at 16. During her gravure idol years, she adhered strictly to her agency’s no-dating policy. Her JAV role model is Ai Uehara, and her inspiration comes from Nami Hoshino.
